Update (About time right?)
I remember many years ago forming this group when I started getting crazy about the stonewall attack. I was in the library gathering as much information as I can about this as well as looking online for stonewall related material. I then had the idea of making my own variations of this opening since the stonewall is not an opening that contains "Opening Theory."
I would play this opening so much, trying to find any possible advantage and discover ways to keep the advantage. In other words, completely analyze every possible outcome for the stonewall player to have a good game, even if it meant getting a draw. Heck this opening has been used to take down strong players who barely play against it, and even to this day, even when more people know about this opening, it stills works fine.
This also gets much deeper than the opening. I started eventually playing openings that also didn't have much theory to them, and the reason why is because I've realized that too many chess players today are all about tactics and game theory rather than just playing the game and going on from there. Too many people get thrown off when they encounter something never seen before.
I kid you all not. I've played openings like a4 and then h4, or even Nh3 while the opponent is basically trying to follow the directions from books, or trying to play very tactically against a player going for position and using tactics when it benefits him. I really feel that people need to put more emphasis on position and pressure rather than simply going for a quick mate or gathering material. This is why many people will never become grandmasters.
Anyways my point is that I really did enjoy the time on this site and the amount of time put into learning the stonewall as well as the people on this site in general. As you all know, I took a very long leave due to many reasons, but the main reason is that I honestly forgot about this site with all the stuff that was taking place in my life from that time. Some good, some bad. All I have to say about that, is that people live, and people die. You have good days, you have bad days.
In any case, I will no longer pay money for this site. I will no longer have a premium membership for this site and I have moved on. I hate to sound like an asshole, but I honestly sort of preferred the old Chess.com, and I've found other sites to play chess on, and also because I'm getting in deep into my career of being a massage therapist and I'm almost done with it. Overall my life is in a new direction, and I can finally say that after all this time, things are stable and I'm happy, and I'm grateful that my loving parents are helping me go forward.
This is not a goodbye however. I won't be on this site too much, but I will post games and maybe analyze games based on the stonewall or something similar like the Colle Systems. It all depends on the time, but I do want to say I'm sorry for not telling you all why I left so abrutly and letting what was once a flourishing group die.
Anyways if you have any games you want analyzed or games to show me, feel free to post them. Hopefully I can help out at around the same as I used to. My skill has declined slightly since 2 years back. I've actually rediscovered my love for chess about a few weeks ago. I'm a little rusty, but I'm still a stonewall warrior!
