Updates and Changes

Hi all!

Thank you for continuing to support ChessMeet! I hope that you have valuable experiences and even made new friends at our club!

As our group continues to grow, our Manhattan events will no longer be at Da Capo UES. Our primary locations will now be at The Hugh in Midtown and/or Hudson Eats at Battery Park. I am still determining the regular days and times, so stay tuned.

FUN fact: ChessMeet's very first event was actually at Hudson Eats so it's nice to be back :D 

Also, we are planning to have a group at the Bronx too! So keep your eyes out for all the new locations and neighborhoods we will be exploring.

March 29 - Women's Chess with Astoria Chess club! 6:30pm at Bier and Cheese Collective

April 1 - Chess for Beginners in Midtown at Vanilla Gorilla Cafe 2pm

Word of the Day:

Rookie - a sports term used to refer to players within their first year. It is believed that this was derived from the chess piece, "rook," which typically is one of the last pieces to be played in a chess game (source).
