Updates on meetups, USCF ratings, and a Holiday tournament!
The month of November has been busier than usual, so we’d like to provide some updates and announcements regarding our recent quick tournament, upcoming meetups, and a surprise tournament scheduled for this December.
First! There will be no meetup on Black Friday (11/28)!
We will have a casual meetup on 11/21, then meet up again on 12/5.
Second, just an update regarding the USCF quick games from October. The games have moved over to the new USCF rating website with the time control updated to G/10; +5. Currently, the games themselves need to be re-rated, but have been moved. Until then, these games will not show or reflect on your current USCF rating until the games are re-rated as quick games, instead of dual-rated.
Once again, we appreciate you all for your patience regarding this mistake. This has taken longer to fix due to the change in rating sites, but USCF has been doing what it can to get both new games rated and old games re-rated during this time.
Finally, we’ve had a few players reach out asking if we’ll be hosting a tournament this month. Initially, the plan was not to host any tournament during the holidays. We expected more players to be doing something during the holidays, aside from playing chess.
City Creek Chess would like to accommodate these players by hosting a Holiday Quad tournament! This quad will be held on 12/5 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with round one starting at 7:30 pm.
