War on illegal trade in Animals

Snakes,tarantulas,lemurs and even a cheetah are among endangered Animals being smuggled into the U.K.Recent seizures include four hundred rare tortoises from Uzbekistan and severn hundred and fifty turtles from America.The cheetah was being smuggled in from South Africa.Collectors and hobbiests need to take more responsibility because it is demand from them that is driving the illegal trade.Global Wildlife smuggling is said to be worth twelve billion pounds annually and is threatening the survival of hundreds of species.A spokesman from the U.K. Border agency said:"We are in the front line to see the illegal movement of Endangered Wildlife.Our specialist officers work tirelessly to confront this illicit and often cruel trade".
