Wanna swim?

I’ll be here for you, always
Even if it eats me alive
Wanna swim? Take a dive
Into the problems we go

Whether they’re yours or mine
It’ll be fine
We’ll be okay
Maybe not mentally

Maybe you but not me
Does that matter?
It’s my purpose

They come and go
Just because I help them
It’s too much
Does that matter?

It’s my responsibility
To care for the lost, the damaged

To be the person they can go to
Even if it eats me alive
Wanna swim? Take a dive

I might not survive but it’s alright
They will
It’s not like I matter

I’ll be the push they need
To float
To strive
While I fall back to rock bottom

Will anyone come to save me?
Maybe
Does it matter? Do they really care?
Will anyone save me?

No.
That’s the thing
Nobody will save me
I did this to myself
But
I can’t say no
When they ask for help

As much as I suffer behind invisible walls
It doesn’t matter
I will help them as much as I can

Even if it pushes me so far that I can’t come back up
Even if it eats me alive
I’ll still try
