Welcome Mike Post!
Hey everyone!
First, welcome our newest member Mike Post! Glad to have you. I understand that you weren't able to join the most recent match. I think that's because of a chess.com anti-bot thing because your account is so new, but I could be wrong. In any case, we don't have a rule in place that would stop you, and I don't think you'll have the same issue next time around. In the meantime feel free to challenge anybody you like to a game. Likewise everybody else feel free to do the same.
Second, I've been trying to think of a way to get some in person games going, and have been frustrated by the lack of clubs in my area (and in the Lansing area) so I had some boards screen printed that you can see in the picture, and am hoping to keep growing the club and get an over-the-board following going. Let me know if you're interested in playing some games, know other people who are, have a location you could suggest etc. I'm open to any and all suggestions.
Finally, there are a lot of games ongoing right now. Lubna and Alec in particular have some nail-biters going, and I recently blundered most of my advantage away against Eric in Niowave Games II. So check those games out if you haven't already!
Next, there is an ongoing club match that we got a lot of participation in. It's going to be a lot better match than the last one I think since we've now got a record established and got a much better matchup. Check those games out too.
And last of all, here is the latest club rating graph. You'll see two people on there you likely haven't met. The first is Jeremy Graham. He's one of my daughter's friends' dad. Turns out, very strong. He's been taking a lot of my points recently. And the other is Dexter herself. She's not into computer chess but loves to play over the board. She's been dark-horsing some points too.
