Okay, first, I  will announce the Chess Club's second tournament winners. Parth placed in first, Aayush and Soumik tied for second, the Ben, Steve, and Artur placed in third, fourth, and fifth respectively. Kunj placed slightly above Dario, and Peter lagged behind Dario. Julio, the newer member, placed in last. But that is okay! Keep trying, everyone!

In case you haven't already, I encourage everyone to explore Chess. com. Start playing games with other people out there. Play around with your settings. Check out the forums and other member and groups.

For the new tournament, the rules will be as follows:

1) Everybody will be reset to 0 points, meaning that everybody has a shot at becoming champion.

2)Everybody will play the same number of games. This is for the most accurate rating. For example, if player A has played 6 games and player B has only 3, player A will have an unfair advantage.

3)I will decide who will verse whom. I will decide 2 games for each player, and then that player can choose his third opponent. Of course, the two have to agree on a game.

4)There are two ways you will be allowed to play chess. Correspondence chess is a long form of chess, where completing a game can take days or even  months. Basically, you submit a move and wait for your opponent's reply. To avoid a gmae taking forever, you will have 24 hours to move. But since we don't have that kind of time, we have Live Chess, where you can finish a game in minutes. It is basically the way we play at school, except it is over the internet. Group members can chat with the players and analyze the game. Of course, both players have to  inform me of who won. I will try to view all the games.

5)A win=2 points, loss=1, draw=1, run out of time=0, resignition=0

6) That is about it for now. If you know someone at school that can play chess and would like to join, just tell them to sign up for Chess.com
