HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Yes, I know it's February already. It's been a busy year for me already. Laughing

But, I'm never too busy to send out a congratulations to our teammates for delivering another win for Pizza Chess.

Congratulations to those who participated in the $15.99 - Delivery Not Included!!!

I looked back over the notes in the game. It was good to see a lot of discussion.

A couple of highlights:

The proposed moves were 6. exd5 and 6.e5.

In the game exd5 won out by 1 vote. And it is easy to see why.

One issue I've really struggled with, and I think most if not all other players have at one point, is how to know when to push and when to capture in the middle.

I think up until just a few months of go, 6. e5 would have been my choice.

I found this position personally interesting becuse I recently made the same wrong move Black did. Fortunately, it didn't cost me the game, but it sure put me in a bad position.

I saw in the team notes that this nearly got overlooked. Good catch guys. Another great tool to have in your arsenal.

Well played guys.

I would also like to congratulate everyone who participated in our last team match. We won that one too.

Good luck to everyone in our current team match.

For the current team match, I put a maximum of 6 players. I am always concerned that we won't find enough players. However, it filled-up quickly this time. So if anyone not playing in a match, or maybe someone who is in the current match, are  interested in playing in a team match, let me know. If there is enough interest, I will find a match.

We currently have 5 vote chess games going. A couple of them have a lot of theory discussion going on. Once one of our current games finishes, I will get a new vote chess game started.

Here are a couple of forum threads I would like to draw your attention to:

This is a thread by one of our newest members, Olympian256. It is based on some work he has been doing with another player. There is some good basic information in there for anyone interested in the Queen's Gambit.

Also, I saw someone asking about voting procedure in vote chess. So here is the link to a forum post I made explaining it.

And, untl next time, happy mating!!!
