World 4 Player Speed Chess Championships (W4SCC) Begin Tonight!
Beginning tonight at 6 pm US Central / 4 pm US Pacific / 7pm US Eastern / Midnight UTC, players will fight for eight spots in the World Championship of FFA Speed Four Player Chess, a Chess.com variant where four sets of pieces play against one another to earn the most points. Players rated 1600 and above in Bullet Free-For-All will have the opportunity to join multiple of the 32 different two-hour qualifying arenas over the next four weekends. Prizes will be awarded to the four finalists.

Qualifiers take place in the form of two-hour Arenas during the next four Saturdays and Sundays at 00:00, 04:00, 16:00, and 20:00 Universal Coordinated Time (UTC).
In order to qualify, you need to play at least two arenas in a single time control (either 1 minute with 1 second increment or 45 seconds with no increment) but you don't have to play both time controls. Weekends will alternate between the 1|1 and 3/4|0 time controls. Your two best Arena scores in a single time control will be considered for qualification. After the qualifiers finish, four players in each time control will be selected. Upon participating in these Arenas, you agree to terms and conditions set forth in https://www.chess.com/clubs/forum/view/announcing-the-first-ever-2021-world-4-player-speed-chess-championship-w4scc .
Qualifiers for the Semi-Finals and Finals will have the opportunity to be featured on chess.com's designated twitch channels.
Semi-Finals:
March 6, 2021 at 17:00 UTC - The top two 1|1 FFA Players will play against the third & fourth 3/4|0 players.
March 7, 2021 at 17:00 UTC - The third & fourth 1|1 FFA Players will play against the top two 3/4|0 players.
Finals:
March 14, 2021 at 17:00 UTC - The top two players from each Semi-Final will advance to the Finals. Prizes will be awarded to the four finalists.

If you are available at 00:00 UTC, 04:00 UTC, 16:00 UTC, or 20:00 UTC during the next four Saturdays or Sundays, you will can join the arenas in the link above.
HOW TO JOIN THE QUALIFIER ARENAS:
When an Arena titled "2021 W4SCC Qualifier #..." appears during the scheduled time, you can join one of two ways:
1. Click Leaderboards on the 4 player chess webpage or click https://www.chess.com/4-player-chess?t=leaderboards . Then, select Arenas. When the tournament becomes available, click Join.

2. Select the Play tab on the 4 player chess webpage or click https://www.chess.com/4-player-chess?t=play . Then click the Arena symbol. When an orange (>) Play symbol appears, click that button.

We encourage you to join as many queues for this Tournament as possible (up to 3) so the games can start quicker.
Didn't make it in time?
You can latejoin and early leave the Arena Qualifiers as you please. You must, however, agree to the terms and conditions set forth in https://www.chess.com/clubs/forum/view/announcing-the-first-ever-2021-world-4-player-speed-chess-championship-w4scc .
Tournaments do not start until the play button appears right at the beginning of the hour. Tournaments do not finish until the last game that begin before the Tournament time ran out finishes.
Not 1600 yet?
It is not too late to achieve 1600 in a Bullet FFA Time Control! Join any game ranging from 1/2 | 0 to 1 | 1 between now and Sunday February 21, 2021 at 16:00 UTC and you can still grind your rating to meet the minimum so that you could participate in at least two Arenas! If you drop below 1600 in an Arena, you can still participate during the rest of that Arena.
