Writch's Coven

Despite the occult sounding name, this sub-group isn't anything Wiccan or even nefarious. Although it is about "Writchcraft:"

Writing With A Purpose.

What I’m calling for is a gathering of writer-folk into a small group for practice. That is, those who want to improve their craft as well as help others improve theirs. So, yeah, I’m talking serious dedication:  theme assignments, due dates, forced feedback, etc. That’s also the part that contributes to the name… it’s a short form of Covenant: an agreement, usually formal, between two or more persons to do or not do something specified.

Now by small, I mean a manageable group: a coven “traditionally” numbers about 13 members, but as I said, this ain’t about a true coven, just a catchy name for likeminded folks interested in upping their craft.

Naively, I’m a thinkin’ I can pull this off here, in PWoC, without having to break-out and form an exclusive splinter group. You see, I also want the larger writer tribe get a gander at what’s going on in the Coven so perhaps the spark will catch and the fire will spread. This means you can’t be shy about your stuff, OK? We’ll have an audience. But I will limit direct contribution to those members and delete any posts that drift down from the Peanut Gallery. And I’m not afraid to shuffle members out of the Coven that lose interest and fail to live up to their obligations.

Nuff said. You can apply by replying to this News Post. Most of the active folks I’ll recognize their names. If you haven’t been really active here, but have stuff for me to look at, better start a thread for me to look at it – that way we can start to break the shackles of your shyness. In about a week’s time I’ll announce the members of Writch’s Coven and start with a theme assignment that you’ll have a week to work on.
