Chess is often referred to as the "Royal Game" for, way back in the old days, the game used to be played among Kings and important people. The winner of the following game was Prince Andrey Dadian of Mingrelia (1850-1910), he was a Georgian Prince who was an "amateur" player as well as being a patron of the game at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries; he sponsored the 1903 Monte Carlo Tournament.The profound and brilliant combination used by the Prince to mate his opponent is nothing less than Royal and worthy of admiration.
