Don't be afraid to get desperate

I was playing a game recently and was in what would be considered a losing position... I was down a pawn soon to be two, and my back rank was weak I only had one thing to offer so i tried it

The moral of the story is that down is not out.  Look for a mate, think of the best one possible, preferably one that requires less of a blunder than this, but get desperate if you have to.  And usually, if you dangle a major piece in someone's face, they will take it.
