A Sweeping Prediction

Back to my Capablanca endgame series...

Anyway, this game is notable for one thing other than Capablanca's play. When he was asked for the opinion of the position after his opponents' 18th move, he instantly replied, "Black is lost; White's king pawn will win the game."

And that is exactly what happened. Capablanca conducts the ending very well and breaks through after some quiet maneuvering. The power of his king pawn eventually leaves his opponents helpless.
