Update (11/01/22):

Due to a server configuration error, the Chess Played Quick event that was originally scheduled for October 31 had to be canceled mid event. The event has been rescheduled and will now take place on Monday, November 7, at 9:00 PT/18:00 CET. Please note that this is one hour later than the original event in Europe due to daylight savings time ending in the United States.

Participants will play with the same account they originally registered with. These accounts will be reset to 1000 rating and will have their bot progress reset. Because the majority of the participants have played games on their account now, we will be adding a rule that all accounts require 20 Chess960 games to be played on it.

Thank you for your understanding.

Chess Played Quick is Chess.com's monthly event where chess streamers do live speed runs using one of Chess.com's features.

This month's event, Chess Played Quick 960 Edition, kicks off on October 31 at 9 a.m. PT/17:00 CEST (rescheduled to November 7, 9 a.m. PT/18:00 CEST). Players have two hours to achieve their highest Chess960 rating and other milestones to collect bounties. The event features a 2,000 Twitch subs prize fund and is open to all Twitch affiliates or partner streamers.

Format

Players start with a 1000 Chess960 rating. They have two hours to reach their highest Chess960 rating and other milestones to collect bounties. All games need to be played in the play interface and the event's time control is 3 minutes (no increment) and with the default rating range settings. There are no rating categories for this event, and only Twitch affiliate streamers are eligible to win prizes. Streamers have 48 hours after the end of the event to claim their prizes by filling out the claim form.

There is a 260 bounties limit for this event. If there are more than 260 claims, the tied players' Chess960 rating determines who wins the prize.

Prizes

The event features 2,000 Twitch subs as the prize fund, with 700 subs going to the three players with the highest Chess960 rating by the end of the event:

  • 1st: 400 subs
  • 2nd: 200 subs
  • 3rd: 100 subs

Please note that only Twitch streamers that are at least an affiliate are eligible to win prizes.

Bounties

Each valid bounty claim is worth five subs, with a maximum of 260 bounties available, totaling 1300 subs. You can see all the bounties below:

  • Reach a 1500 Chess960 rating.
  • Reach a 1750 Chess960 rating.
  • Reach a 2000 Chess960 rating.

  • Win 35 games.
  • Perform a castle where your king doesn't move.
  • Beat all the billionaire bots in Chess960.*
  • Win a game after taking a pawn on move two.

* To play Chess960 against a bot, go to our Play Computer page, select the bot you want to play, click the "Choose" button, select the "Custom" option, and toggle off all options except for "Bot chat" (Analysis, Engine suggestion, etc.). Then, on the "Type" dropdown menu, select "Chess960". This bounty was changed because the zombie bots aren't available anymore.

Schedule

Chess Played Quick: 960 Edition starts on November 7 and lasts two hours.

Rules And Signup

  • Only Twitch affiliates or partner streamers are eligible to win prizes.
  • Players must complete the proof submission form to claim their bounties. They don't need to clip proof in real time.
  • Players have up to 48 hours to fill out the Google Form and claim their bounties.
  • Any type of proof is acceptable as long as it clearly shows the bounty the player completed the bounties.
