Chess Played Quick: Bot Battles Edition

Chess Played Quick is Chess.com's series of monthly events where top chess streamers do live speed runs using one of Chess.com's features.

This month's event, Chess Played Quick: Bot Battles, will feature streamers terminating the bots from our Play Computer page. The event will start on July 26 at 12 p.m. PT/21:00 CEST and last for 3 hours and 30 minutes. During that period, streamers will try to defeat as many bots as possible and collect bounties for their share of the $10,000 prize fund.


Broadcast

We will broadcast the event live on Chess.com/TV and on our Twitch and YouTube channels. Aranhawaii will provide commentary and highlight different streamers during the event.

Chess Player Quick Bot Battles Host

Format

  • Players will be divided into two sections (Open and U2000) according to their peak Chess.com blitz rating;
  • Players will do a bot speed run on our Play Computer page in "challenge mode" lasting 3 hours and 30 minutes;
  • During the speed run, players will try to beat as many bots as possible and complete different bounties (described in the Bounties section).

Prizes

Chess Played Quick: Bot Battles has a prize fund of $10,000. The prize fund will be divided according to the prizes and bounties described below:

Open Prizes

  • Most Bots beat: $1,500
  • 2nd most Bots beat: $750
  • 3rd most Bots beat: $500

U2000 Prizes

  • Most Bots beat: $1,000
  • 2nd most Bots beat: $500
  • 3rd most Bots beat: $250

Bounties

Below is a list of all the bounties of this event. Hidden bounties will be announced on the official broadcast 20 minutes before the hour (00:40, 01:40, 02:40 elapsed time).

Open Bounties

  • First to defeat all Bots from the "Personalities" section: $250
  • First to defeat all Bots from the "Top Players" section: $250
  • First to defeat all Bots wearing neckties: $250
    • Noel, Nelson, Jonas, Lorenzo, Xavier, Charles, Francis, Luke, Danya, Morphy, Maurice, Dawid.
  • First to defeat all Bots wearing glasses: $250
    • Santiago, Olga, Sakura, GothamChess, Canty, Hikaru, Giri, Vishy, Robert, Aronian, Kramnik.
  • The player who defeats the highest-rated Engine Bot (levels 1-25)*: $250
  • First to defeat all Bots of past PogChamps participants: $150
    • xQc, MrBeast, Pokimane, Ludwig, CodeMiko, Neeko, Voyboy, Hafu, Sardoche.
  • Hidden Bounty 1: $450 total, of which
    • a) Win a game after capturing all the Bot's pieces: $150
    • b) Win a game with all your pieces still on the board (pawns does not count): $150
    • c) Make at least 50 moves against a former World Champion (winning is not necessary): $150
  • Hidden Bounty 2: $450 total, of which
    • a) Bongcloud Levy - You must play the bongcloud (or reverse bongcloud) vs GothamChess and win the game. You must play 2. Ke2 or Ke7: $150
    • b) Rudolf French - Beat Anna Rudolf with the French Defense: $150
    • c) Botez Gambit - Beat a Botez (Andrea or Alexandra) after giving up your queen: $150
  • Hidden Bounty 3: $450 total, of which
    • a) Mated by Martin - get mated by Martin: $150
    • b) Pawn Mate Pablo - Mate Pablo with a pawn : $150
    • c) Stalemate Samay - Stalemate Samay: $150

* Bot personalities (e.g. Jimmy, HikaruBot, MorphyBot) do not count for this bounty.

Chess Played Quick Bot Battles Open Bounties

U2000 Bounties

  • First to defeat all Bots from the "Adaptive" section: $250
  • First to defeat all Bots from the  "Beginner" section: $250
  • Defeat the most Bots wearing head coverings: $250
    • Oliver, Mina, Hans, Arthur, Pierre, Fatima, Noam, Canty.
  • Defeat the most Bots with beards (stubbles included): $250
    • Devon, Martin, Juan, Filip, Santiago, Emir, Hans, Azeez, Sven, Nelson, Pablo, Jonas, Lorenzo, Wally, Charles, Noam, Ahmed, Arjun, Alexander, Mr. Beast, Aman, Samay, Canty, Voyboy, Hikaru, Aronian, Agadmator, Krikor, Gotham Chess.
  • The player who defeats the highest-rated Engine Bot (levels 1-25)*: $250
  • First to defeat all Bots of past PogChamps participants: $150

Schedule

The event starts on July 26 at 12 p.m. PT/21:00 CEST. We will announce the hidden bounties on our official broadcast 20 minutes before the hour (00:40, 01:40, 02:40 elapsed time).

Rules And Signup

  • Streamers must create a new account to participate in the event;
  • We will separate players into two different sections (Open and U2000-rated) according to their main account's peak Chess.com blitz ratings. We reserve the right to change a player's section if needed;
  • Streamers must play all games in "Challenge" mode (with no takebacks, hints, or any other assistance allowed);
  • The first player to finish each task and send in a clip containing proof collects the bounty;
  • There can only be one player participating per stream;
  • We will announce hidden bounties on our official broadcast at 12:40am, 1:40pm, and 2:40pm PT
  • Players must fill out the event's official application form—applications close 48 hours before the event;
  • Players must stream their participation in the event;
  • Players must connect their streaming account to Chess.com.
