Chess Played Quick (CPQ) is Chess.com's monthly series of events where top chess streamers complete bounties for prizes.

The Chess Played Quick - Doubles (Bughouse) Edition happens on March 30 at 9 a.m. PT/18:00 CET. Streamers will pair up and strive to complete a series of Doubles (Bughouse) challenges before the two-hour timer runs out. The event has 2,000 Twitch subs as the prize fund and a new format featuring a wheel of challenges.

Format

Players form teams of two to play the entire event. Streamers can either sign up as a team or individually, in which case they'll be paired with other streamers. All games are in the 3+0 time control in the regular queue (direct challenges are not allowed), except for the special bounties.

This edition of CPQ features a new format with a Bounty Wheel. Teams spin the wheel before each game to receive a challenge. Players must complete the challenge to collect the bounty.

The same bounty can only be claimed once by each team. If you forget to remove a completed bounty from the wheel and it gets selected, you may remove the challenge and spin the wheel again.

Bounty Wheel

  • Teams have access to a Bounty Wheel containing all the challenges they can complete to win prizes.
  • There are team and individual bounties on the wheel—however, teammates receive the same amount of subs, so make sure you collaborate with your partner!
  • There are 30 regular bounties with three difficulty levels and four special bounties.
  • Teams can roll the wheel once before each game they play.
  • Once the wheel stops spinning and a challenge is selected, teams have to try to complete it at least once.
  • If the team completes the challenge, they have to remove it from the wheel. If they fail to complete it, they can decide to either remove it or keep it on the wheel before spinning it again.
  • Once a team decides to remove a bounty, it disappears from the wheel forever.
  • Players can only complete each bounty once. If you forget to remove a completed bounty and it gets selected, you must remove it and spin the wheel again to receive a new challenge.

Rules

  • Games must be played in the 3+0 time control.
  • Players must win the game to complete a bounty unless the challenge description specifies otherwise.
  • Players have two hours to complete as many bounties as they can.
  • Players have 48 hours after the end of the event to submit proof of bounty completion.
  • Players can use their main account to participate. However, their Doubles (Bughouse) rating will be reset before the event starts

Prizes

The event features 2,000 Twitch subs as the prize fund. The sub value of each bounty is determined by the number of available subs (2,000) divided by the number of total bounties claimed by all participants. Teams are then rewarded according to the number of bounties they claim, with both team members winning the same amount of subs.
