Fun in the Old Spanish territory

Many players work hard to develop a useful defense to the Ruy Lopez. There are many varieties of the Spanish, many of them complicated with theory running more than 20 moves. In this article I show some ideas in the old-fashioned classical lines.

We'll start with two ancient examples  by the great Adolf Anderssen and then look at Kramnik's modern handling. I hope you'll discover that this old fashioned defense is quite playable and easier to learn than most Spanish lines.
