Here is a game from the recent Groningen Chess Festival, FM Heemskerk - GM Skatchkov with full annotations and commentary:

 

 

 

This game clearly illustrates the strategy of Hypermodern play. The idea white used was to control the center with pieces rather than pawns while allowing black to play his pawns forward to the center which then became the target of attack. The strategy of Hypermodern play was made famous by players such as Aron Nimzowitsch and Richard Reti and it is still used in games today.
