IM Cardoso of RP

International Master Rodolfo Tan Cardoso of the Philippines was its first International Master.  He was the only Filipino to win over the late former World Champion Robert Fischer; in their 1957 match in New York.

He has retired in the 1970's and is now into coaching.  IM Cardoso has recently conducted a 1-day workshop for children in MERALCO, Pasig City as part of its 105th Anniversary this month.

The kids were taught of the chess principles in a very participative environment.  He is a wonderful chess coach and knows how to keep the children in focus and alert at all times.
