Killer Pins
In the following brilliancy-prize English Opening between GM Ludek Pachman and A. Chirich, the opening is Hipermodern. That is, one side attempts to provoke the other into taking control of the center with the view of taking it back and leaving the opponent's position punctured and breached in the process. The position is material-even all the way to move 24. Suddenly, White decides to change the course of events by sacrificing his Queen for a Rook with 25.Qxf8+!!, followed by the employment of two lethal pins, Black tries to return the Queen to save his King, White ignores the offer. Resignation is on order.
