King Exposure

Here is a game from the 12th Bavarian Open, GM Yemelin - IM Kaplan with full annotations and commentary:

This game was a nice display of the benefits of forcing weaknesses near the opponent's King and the results it can bring. In this game white was able to start a nice attack to expose the black King when black had no choice but to trade down into a worse endgame where only white had the winning chances.

The King is the most important piece in the game and if it is not properly secured and defended it can result in a worse or immediate lost position.
