Poisoned Pawn
I decided to share this position with the Chess.com community to highlight the dangers of greed and complacency. In this game I was a Bishop up and confident against a lower rated opponent. Unfortunately I decided to take the pawn, leaving my King exposed, leading to a significant loss of material and ultimate long, slow and painful defeat. I hope I do not do my opponent an injustice when I say he could not have seen this outcome after 5 moves, but after the first check, the moves just seemed to flow. White's play after this sequence was outstanding and white thoroughly deserved his victory. This was a painful lesson to learn and I still have nightmares over taking that Poisoned Pawn!
