Top Events
November brought the launch of our newest weekly event, “3 0
Thursday.” With 3 separate sessions throughout the day on
Thursday, this event will serve players in all timezones and
will feature one of our most popular time controls, 3+0.
We held the first edition of “CoachChamps,” which was in
connection with the Improvement Challenge. Coaches were paired
up with motivated improvers to mentor them in preparation for a
final contest to showcase their skills against the other
students.
We held the online portion of this event throughout October and
November. The four finalists are Magnus Carlsen, Hikaru
Nakamura, Alireza Firouzja, and Denis Lazavik. We’ll see them
face off at the SCC Finals, live in London in February of 2026!
A total of over $13k was raised throughout this event in
collaboration with LIDÈ Haiti. Those funds will support LIDE’s
programming for underprivileged young women in Haiti.
