This game is a good example that the French defense is still playable and successful for the black side! In recent years this opening system has lost popularity at the highest levels but it can be used as a nice weapon to avoid 20 moves of opening theory in the Sicilian and Ruy Lopez.

In this game black was able to play patiently for some time and maneuver the pieces to their best squares and then at an opportune moment black was able to decisively open the position around the white King to earn the win.
