The Unfortunate Queen
CCGM Peter Clarke of England and pictured GM Ludek Pachman of Czechoslovakia (1924-2003), played the following game during the Kecskemet tournament of 1964 in Hungary. They reached an early dinamic point with 11...f6. It would be enlightening to know how far ahead Black saw when he made that move, or whether he was guided by some mysterious sixth sense. Soon enough, White's Queen finds herself deep inside enemy territory. Out of desperation, White plays 21.d4, hoping for 21...Re8 22.d5. Instead, Black ends all negotiations with the killer 21...Nd5, White's Queen is trapped and cannot escape.
