its just 8 simple themes 1. Inititive 2. Material 3. Pawn structure 4. Lines 5. Officers 6. Development 7. Space 8. King safety this can be easily rememberd as Implodes+k now for a position in which we will use this idea to determine how we should play.

its hard to say here who really has an inititive white has a nice battery with the queen and the rook but they bite on granate and he has some pieces that are strangely placed namely his rook on b1 and his knight on b3 they are just kind of chilling on the queenside doing nothing to aid in the attack on the other hand black has active pieces his fienchettoed bishop is just a monster on the long diagonal there is nothing wrong in black's position taht i can see please correct me if im wrong on this he has a nice set up but thats enough on inititive neither player really has one. ok now onto the next part Material the material is equal. Now pawn structure black has the better pawn structure white's 2 isolated pawns on the king side are just horrible. Lines describes how freely your pieces can move if they are rooks on the open files or half open bishops on the long diagonal queens in the center of the board that sort of thing. looking at the position we see that black's pieces have the better lines. Officers let us compare the knights in terms of centrality and controll of critical squares in the position. white's knight on b3 controlls d4 c5 a5 d2 a1 and c1 of these 2 are central (d4 c5). Now for the black knight on c6 controlling d4 e5 e7 d8 b8 a7 a5 and b4 of these squares only 2 are central (d4 e5) yet this knight is better because it controlls more squares and defends more important points than his counter part. Now the bishops black's bishop is fienchettoed on g7 and controlls the long diagonal and 4 central squares (f6 e5 d4 c3). White's bishop on e3 controlls 3 central squares (f4 d4 c5). Black has the better officers based on these reasons. Development first we look at the rooks the f rook and b rooks are stuck behind pawns and the d rook and g rook both bite on granate (attack a half open file that is closed up by a protected pawn advance) now the queens they are roughly equal black's is on the open file where it could become a target later on if the e3 bishop ever were to move and white get a rook on e1 white's queen is biting on granate with the g1 rook. the knights black's is slighly better for reasons described in the lines same with the bishops. Space space is roughly equal neither play has made any noticeable space grabs yet. now for the King safety black's king is under a sort of pseudo attack while white's is exposed mising his g pawn in the corner but he has 3 pieces defending him so he isnt that bad and black has no immediate threat to attack the king. so based on all of this we can conclude that the position is reletively equal maybe slightly in black's favor now its your turn to find the correct move based on all these ideas good luck and i hope you have good games using this system and be sure to keep watching i might do some new topics later on simular ideas like strategy or tactics.
