Today John Lennon would have been 80 years old, had his life not been cut short so early by a deluded person 40 years ago. He had reached a legendary status in music, particularly through his partnership with Paul McCartney and The Beatles and through music wanted to make the world a better place, his song Imagine perfectly encapsulating that. Born in an underprivileged area of Liverpool, it was his talent which saw him travel and cover the world with his music, from the days (and nights !) in The Cavern to Hamburg in Germany, and although in his later years he lived for a while in Los Angeles, and loved staying often in Philadelphia, he was happy to be domiciled in the Dakota Building in the Manhattan Central Park area of New York City. After his tragic demise, many performers and acts paid tribute to his talent.
