Tomorrow will be the 50th birthday of Matt Damon , who has become a film favourite around the world. He won an Oscar and Golden Globe for writing the screenplay to Good Will Hunting 1997 with Ben Affleck at the start of his career, and also won a Globe as an actor for The Martian 2015, but in between it is probably the four Jason Bourne films 2002-16 which have made him a global star. That said he was in the title role of Saving Private Ryan 1998, Oceans 11 2001 and Oceans 12 2004, The Departed 2006, The Adjustment Bureau 2011, Elysium 2013, Interstellar 2014 and The Great Wall 2016 - all big films. Born in Boston, Massachusetts and raised in nearby Newton and Cambridge, apart from Los Angeles he has lived in Manhattan and between 2005-13 he owned a home on Miami Beach, where he met his wife. He went to Harvard, where he majored in English and is a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox, attending games whenever he can. We believe a match should be held in his honour and hope you will accept
