Sadly news has emerged of the passing on the 6th of actor Kevin Dobson, who will best be remembered as Crocker in the TV series Kojak 1973-78 and a reunion movie in 1990. Mentored as an actor by friend Telly Savalas, Dobson went on to become a regular on TV screens in a variety of roles, though often as a detective, as in his own series Shannon 1981-82. Born in Queens, New York he was raised in Jackson Heights and in early work was a conductor on the Long Island railroad. He also served in Vietnam and n his later years often worked for Veteran causes, being awarded the Silver Hornet and American Legion Award. He passed away at his long-standing home in Stockton, California after a heart attack, but unusually for Hollywood he was married to the same lady for 52 years.
