Yesterday we learned sadly of the passing of Rhonda Fleming at the age of 97 on the 14th. A true star of 40s and 50s cinema, who achieved a star on the Walk of Fame in 1960, Not an award-winner but in some memorable films such as Spellbound 1945, Out of the Past 1947, Inferno & Pony Express 1953 and While the City Sleeps 1957, she continued to feature onscreen up to 1990, being regarded less as a great actress and more a great beauty, who within the industry was regarded as impossible to film badly. Born actually in Hollywood, so a natural progression to film, and attending Beverly Hills public and private schools, she lived most of her adult life in Century City, California and with her husband was strongly involved in numerous charitable works throughout her life including the foundation of a cancer clinic at UCLA Medical Centre and the foundation of the Jerusalem Film Institute in Israel.
