Yesterday was the 130th anniversary of the birth of Dame Agatha Christie in Torquay, Devon. She died aged 85 in 1976 at her long-standing home in Winterbrook, Wallingford, which historically has moved even in her life between Berkshire and Oxfordshire. In between birth and death, she also lived for some years in London and Paris, France. In between also of course she became famous worldwide as the author who has sold more than anyone else. Renowned for her 66 crime novels and 14 short story collections, as well as introducing Poirot and Miss Marple to the world, she is the author of the world's longest-running play - The Mousetrap - and wrote six romantic novels under the name Mary Westmacott. Her works have been brought to the screen many, many times and in different versions, much like Shakespeare. We believe she is worthy of a match in her honour and hope you will accept
