The start date will be the 95th anniversary of the birth of Steve Forrest, who achieved success as an actor with over 120 screen credits. Born in Huntsville, Texas he joined the US Army in WW2 and rose to the rank of Sergeant, seeing active service at the Battle of the Bulge. On discharge at the end of the war, he achieved a degree at UCLA in theatre studies and gained experience working backstage at the San Diego Playhouse, where he was discovered by Gregory Peck who enabled him to be signed by MGM on a contract. Success followed and he won a Golden Globe for So Big 1953. He came to the UK for films too and was in the TV series The Baron 1966. He may be best remembered as the original Hondo in SWAT 1975-76, Dallas 1986 and Murder She Wrote 1986-96. He lived for much of his years where he passed at the age of 87 in 2013, in Thousand Oaks, California. We believe a match should be held in his honour and hope you will accept
