In November 1918 WWI ended. This was a time of major changes in map of Europe. Nations in our part of the continent after time of being surpressed by stronger neighbours, were able to build own independent states. Poland reemerged after 123 years of divisions, and celebrates Nov 11th as its independent day. Latvia first time in history got independent, and celebrates it every Nov 18th.
