"I would like to see included a choice of FENs:
which have been reached from a standard start position;
that have been declared equal opportunity for black and white, by the proposers;
that these positions have been named to indicate initial opening and proposer.
Usually thematic tournaments expose these FEN positions. This would allow analysts to declare the opening finished and the middle game started.
These could be called FEN tournaments, basically a middle game start tournament, or maybe someone could suggest a better name.
Popularity of the use of the FEN would determine the quality of the analyst."
An advanced option.
To specify the opening to be used in a thematic tournament. The opening is used for every game of the tournament.
The games can be rated. Not a normal situation.
- It may be considered okay since each set of opponents play both sides.
- It is not okay if you consider some players will be experimenting while others are knowledgeable.
In the end though it does not matter much. Ratings will drift towards strength as players go on to other games and as well play non-thematic games at the same time.
Once a Thematic tournament is created it cannot be changed to a Standard Position, nor can a Standard Position be changed to a Thematic.
Possible Enhancements
Suggested by blackWalleroo: Include a choice of FENs
