12 Beginner Tactics: Introduction

Here, at Beginner Tactics forums, I will teach you about 13 basic types of tactics: Forks, Pins, Skewers, Discovered Attack, Discovered Check, Overloading, Deflection, Zwischenzug, Stalemate, Desperado Sacrifices, Clearance Sacrifices, Decoy Sacrifices, and Back Rank Mates. Don't be worried about the big number. They're all simple and are very useful.

Sometimes tactics will win over strategy. Even though one will usually have to crate a good strategy/plan for tactics to appear, tactics also appear when your opponent has no kind of strategy, and they are only weakening their position. For example take this example (I will comment what White may have been thinking, move by move) (this is a Budapest Gambit trap)
