you can't cancel (x-y) because x=y so x-y=0, and you can't divide by 0.
Ok GOOD JOB!!! THE CANCELATION CANNOT WORK! Since if we cancel (x-y) = 0, we’re basically dividing by 0! And /0 is against the laws of mathematics!
