2012 Round 1 Group C

Sort:
DaveShack

Here are the pairings for Group C.

Under match name you will find the requested match name to use for this tournament.  The 1st team listed issues the challenge to the 2nd team listed.  The challenge date and lock date columns are the dates the challenge should be issued and match locked so that the tournament can be finished on time.  Teams are expected to give a little leeway on these dates if requested by the other team.  Teams which fail to issue the challenge and/or lock the match after being contacted by their opponent or the TD may be forfeited at the TD's discretion.  If the teams are not able to agree on a lock date/time, the TD will set a specific deadline on request.

Matches should be set for 5+ players, open ratings, 2 simultaneous games.  If a team cannot reach 5 members (we hope this does not happen) then the other team has the option to lock the match with fewer players, or claim a forfeit.

Good chess to all!

Hi Dave,

Canadiens of Chess never issued their challenge to Chess Etiquette, which was due on the 18th, so we'll claim forfeit on that one.

Cheers :)

Hi Dave,

We'll also claim the forfeir against World Stars.  It's a full week past the challenge by date and past the lock by date.

At least we have the match going against blue lagoon going.

I have only just become an admin for World Stars and have seen that none of the challenges have been sent / accepted. The SA has been in and out of hospital hence why he asked me to step in.

I understand that teams may wish to accept a win by forfeit against World Stars but I am asking for teams to take into consideration the fact that Andrew is deathly ill in hospital and that I would like to still issue the challenges if teams would allow it?

Hi blackfirestorm, just saw your post above.  Unfortunately, at this point it seems too late to start forming a round 1 matchup.  Or do you disagree?  I don't have a feel for how most of the other groups are getting on.  The one other group I admin in also had low participation.  Hopefully we'll have 16 up for it teams in round 2 after the initial round.

CE clinched against BL, so I'll pass the word onto the team that we're headed to the second round :)

Well being fair I made them comments about a month ago so yes it IS too late now whereas it wouldn't have been back then. Never mind we resign and leave the comp.

Too bad about the illness.  And with Canadiens of Chess.com also failing to show, there is just one actual match.  Blue lagoon might have advanced if they had made claims, but they probably won't unless there are a bunch more no-shows.
