There was a Bughouse WCC in the late 1980's and I doubt very much that was the first. My lawyer will be in contact.

Please note, there was an error in my original post regarding registration deadlines. The deadline to register for the tournament is Friday, October 30 at 11:59 pm
Announcing the first ever Bughouse World Championships! There are two sections: an Under 2000 section as well as an Open section. The under 2000 section is open to players whose performance rating falls under 2060 (*performance rating is the average of rating on Oct. 10 2020 with all time high bughouse rating achieved). The tournaments will be longitudinal in nature, with teams having one week to organize and play each match. Registration is now open through Oct. 30 and the tournament will begin on November 2.
