This is the club's annual summer tournament. All are welcome to participate. This is a knockout tournament, with byes prioritized for the previous champion ( @violin470 ) and runner-up ( @KaijiAUT ). Pairings are otherwise made to match higher-ranked players with lower-ranked players.
Special to this tournament is that players bid time extensions for the right to play sente. Time control for gote is 1-day byōyomi, with 20 extensions of 1 day each. Bids are secretly placed by messaging me. Do not bid in this thread! Bids must be placed within 48 hours of the upcoming match being announced in this thread. Failure to bid in time results in a bid of 20.
Note: you bid the number of extensions you are happy to play with, in order to have sente. If you bid "0", that means you would play with 0 extensions, not 20.
Whoever bids the lower number plays sente. If both players bid the same number, the player who placed their bid first plays sente.
