3. Bb5+ Nc6

zidayk asked, "what if black play nc6 instead of bd7 after white play Bb5. Any sample of games along that line?"

My initial answer was, "One response is simply castling immediately, then just going with a transposition into Rossolimo lines. The other option is to play c3, preparing for a d4 break, leaving the light-squared bishop with the option of retreating to c2."

Let's look at some example games.

Why did you play 9. c4? I ask to understand, not criticize. If black traded off d-pawns, exchanged queens, then captured white's f3 knight, would the doubled pawns be an issue for white?

I've rarely tried the early exchange on c6, but I think it's pretty neat. Here's one of my first sicilian game in months! Move order in the opening might've been off.

As we can see after 1. e4 c5 2. Nf3  d6 3. Bb5+ Nc6 I like 4. Bxc6+

Same for 1. e4  c5  2. Nf3  Nc6  3. Bb5  d6 and now 4. Bxc6+ [this is just a transposition to the first line]

Does anyone have any thoughts on this line?

Rublevsky always played Re1, but d4 also looks like a candidate, does anyone have any ideas on this choice?? thanks
