This is absurd disconnecting in a game is normal people can have internet issues. Throwing games is also normal now a days as we know how much ffa ratings are inflated. Again i dont think you need a referee for a game just because you lose 3-4pts.
4 player chess referees. A revolutionary idea

"is normal". what is even the point of that?
"ratings are inflated" what does that have to do with the price of cheese?
more like 7 points not 3-4.

and if you win you get 17 points?

yea no one asked you to play with 2300s to gain glicko. I play mostly 2500+ queues so i dont lose much rating when i get second or third. Yes its your fault for playing lower rated players who don't really understand much about of 4pc yet ( obviously i dont mean to say that you guys cant play but its just a way different level of difference of play btw 2300s and 3ks) Again there is no point for this absurd idea just because you play lower rated players who get emotional and throw games. Admins are not going to go and see every game just because people throw and get disconnect.

Again if you dont want to lose more points play with high rated guys. You can pretty sure find 3ks in 2500+ queues thats because everyone who got around 2700+ in the past few months dont like facing strong players because they think they will have less chances of winning. This might be one of the main reasons i even quit 4pc as there is no point of playing against these players who farm 2300s guys because they never know what it is like to play on higher levels in ffa. Me personally took more than half a year to even get something what its like to be a high rated player and understand the concepts on high level ffa. Again admins wont even care about this is because what u suggested is completely absurd.

Yea u are so much superior with the 8min flagging and shuffling games. You really are the pinnacle of 4 player chess.
You need to show some more awareness and learn to keep threads at least somewhat in the direction that the author intended to discuss. This is not the first time now.

https://www.chess.com/variants/4-player-chess/game/75413240/230/1 ofc see this your game only after which u made the suggestion what did u even do? shuffle???? and than what you expect them to fight each other when you just gonna be back there moving backwards and forward??? not even pushing pawns??? at least in 8min games this doesnt occur as players are forced to push at some point in the game as their is limited time

nah it's okay to assume that everyone should have good enough internet connection and nobody will disconnect during a rated 4PC standard FFA game. In high level games that does NOT happen. Flagging yes, not reconnecting in time (30sec) sometimes rarely, being disconnected for 1-2mins NEVER. So my advice is to play 2500+ because players who are usually active and have higher rating it's less unlikely that they're gonna disconnect.
Instead of having admins who sit there all day and chat ban for every petty little insult that is made a far more productive way of giving these admins something to do with their time could be to introduce 4 player chess referees.
How would this work? Well for example in a game where there are 3 players left. One player gets disconnected and because of this the 1 vs 1 stage is easily winning. As it currently stands 2 players will lose rating and one will win. This is a bit stupid. Only the player who got disconnected should lose rating. The other player that lost was at zero fault for this.
Then it could be extended to game throwing. A bit like the introduction of VAR into football. If there is a clear and obvious game throw only that player should lose rating. The other loses nothing. But it has to be clear and obvious. What is clear and obvious. When a player deliberately sacrifices their pieces on another player giving a clear win to the other player. Sometimes it is very obvious what the intent is.
It may also be a good idea to add in game options "add referee". This means you must add the option when you start a game to make it a refereed game.
This could start only at a higher rating level like 2200+ otherwise there would be too many games and not enough referees and it would be done by clicking report and clicking 'request a referee check' .
Now i am not stupid. THIS IS NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN. I understand that. But i just played a game and lost because another player disconnected which is completely ridiculous and is ultimately the reason why so few people play 4 player chess comparatively speaking , considering the amount of exposure it has got the numbers are still very low. Could this be a way to improve the quality of the game?
