I'm not sure if there is a world 4pc teams championship going on, but i'd certainly like to take part in it
4PC popularity compared to pre-merge

and the old fighting that was really funny doesnt happen anymore, when someone targets and then gets called idiot and stupid. And the swearing.
tbh i miss all that stuff
nah it still happens
oh god not nearly as often
ill make it more often just for you guys.

I love 4pc and play almost every day. It can't be stated more plainly: the game is nothing like it was before the server change. When I first started playing in 2001 it was hundreds of players seeking out games at all hours of the day. I used to play bullet games all day long. Fast forward two years later and there's rarely a bullet game to be found, usually only by creating one and waiting and waiting for others to show. No one can honestly say there are as many players as there used to be, nor can they say that the constant server glitches and restarts aren't happening on a frequent basis. It's sad because this is such a better game than 2pc, I would hate to see it completely die out.

you started playing in 2001? do you mean 2021?

All true. I remember the mods arguing at the time of the change that all the changes were good and everything was fine.

No for two reasons:
- This is a decision by chess.com. Regardless of whether the admins endorsed it or didn’t, they are volunteers and in the end will have no say. Even our developers cannot simply “undo” the change since there are assumingly terabytes of data involved, including games which now encompass both variants and 4PC.
- Chess.com higher ups are not aware of this problem. Customer support thinks that “clearing cache” is a solution, which as we all know is irrelevant.

They could have undone the new starting position however. They held that month long tournament to see if people liked the new starting position. Most didn't, but they kept the new starting position anyway.

Yes, I also think the old setup was the best but how do we get the higher ups to realize they messed up and change it back?
Is there a world 4pc teams going on?
Another thing that got jeopardized with the change. That´s why they say the client is forever and ever always right, because it´s the clients that support the business, not the business that supports the clients.
