Just checked on live chess and actually 120/60 is the longest custom game time you can make (120 mins per player plus 60 seconds bonus per move made).
btw if there is more than one person we could get a little tournament going...

I'd be up for it, and Andy who is Suxxex based recently had a 5 hour game OTB, when we get the OTB meets going, we could do it then as well. If we were to go about our normal day though, there'd be no point as once the non chess time was cut out it'd end up being a lot shorter game. But I'm up for a proper 5 hour game just concentrating, and obviously lots of drinks and nibbles along the way. But then, I suppose we wouldn't make it 5 hours unless it just naturally went that way, but it'd be good to have some longer, well thought out games, with no rush or worry about taking so long on each move.
yes...wiz...that would be good...when i say go about your day..i mean toilet, tea, answer the phone, text etc....you can drop out for a few minutes and then come back...relaxed...maybe an evening or a Sunday morning 7am - 12pm....games of course will likely go the distance...what you think?
what I meant was 'unlikely go the distance' of course...so let's get a time we can both be happy with..
yeah true, ok well I am very busy at the moment with uni assignments due in and lots of home decorating so not sure when It'll be yet...
Watching the documentary on Bobby Fisher it seems that each match in World Finals in those days was 5 hours and I thought it might be nice to give it a go.
I'm talking live chess, 150 minutes (or any other decent amount...hell how about 300 minutes) per player, unrated if we want.
Plenty of time to think about each move, go about your day if necessary (have to maintain a live connection somewhere but internet blips are not an issue), but with no external assistance. I guess we would both have to be around at home for the game.
I haven't finished yet....24 games? well maybe not, but I'm thinking at least best of 5...playing approximately 1 game a month.
I'm thinking one of the ladder players, tloan, dave, residentnod, Wiz might be up for it but anyone can take up the challenge rated 1000-1200 live standard. You just have to be well up for it!!!
Cheers
