I realized that it would be too hard to chess.com create the option of creating custom fairy chess pieces. so theres my suggestions of fairy pieces that i think chess.com should add, and i dont think this would be too hard to code

Description on chess.com: "combines alibaba and wazir"

Notation: Σ

Wizard:

description on chess.com: "combines camel and ferz"

Crowned Rook:

description on chess.com "combines rook and ferz"

notation: μ

Dragon Wazir:

it combines wazir and xiangqi horse

Champion and Wizard sound quite interesting, and I think interesting mid to low value pieces are lacking

The Wazir+Xiangqi horse is probably my favorite out of all these. Maybe call it the Xiangqi Marcher. Very interesting low-ish value piece.

The Queen and Wildebeest piece aka "Death, destroyer of Worlds", (and similar versions like Queen+KnightRider+CamelRider or Amazon+AlibabaRider+Grasshopper) has been suggested many times and is unanimously agreed to be so powerful it doesn't matter, and all versions of it are either stupidly powerful or barely better than the amazon, which is already powerful enough.

Crowned Rook is actually in a group of variant pieces, collectively called "crowned pieces." A crowned piece is simply the moves of 1 piece + the moves of a king. So a crowned bishop would move any amount diagonally or one square orthogonally, and a general is a crowned knight.

Thank you for your feedback, but about the Amazon + Camel compound: its good if used correctly: like a variant where white have a regular chess side and black have only one piece: a royal Amazon + Camel compound, I tried that variant but with a royal amazon instead of a royal Amazon + camel compound and I realized that the white pieces have some advantages if it makes a pawn barrier and keep all pawns protected

Yes, it has it's uses, but because it's only slightly better than an Amazon, and it doesn't change th dynamic much, it's not one of the first pieces I'd choose to add, and I think many would agree.

Okay, I agree on this one, not everyone would want chess.com to add a piece that don’t change too much things, the Amazon + camel compound is a good idea but only when used correctly, and the regular Amazon is easier to be used correctly.

but you said that the Amazon + camel compound is only slightly stronger than the regular Amazon but thats not true: for example a Amazon + camel Compound can checkmate a king without the edges of the board (the regular Amazon needs the help of the edges of the board to checkmate a king)

There's a good chance I'm misremembering, but I thought the camel moves were only worth an extra 1 or 2 points on the Amazon bc of marginal returns. I think I heard somewhere that the camel moves didn't make a big difference in actual games (dont get me wrong they make a dfference, but I think it's less than the full 3 points of a camel)

the camel worths 2 points, look how the amazon + camel compound moves:

Ik how it moves, and the camel is worth 3 points. Just check the official post "the fairy pieces." I just don't remember whether it was marginal returns or not.

okay, i already saw that post, in chess.com the camel is worth 3 points (game of points) but on my opnion it worths 2 points because its colour bound and have less freedom to move than the knight

Yes, interesting lower-value pieces are lacking.
All of these suggestions can be handled by adding code to the variants server to support making games with compounds of the existing pieces:

Champion = {WY} or {YW}

Wizard = {CF} or {FC}

"Death, destroyer of Worlds" = {CZ} or {ZC}, {QV} or {VQ}

Crowned Rook = {FR} or {RF}, {KR} or {RK}

Good idea but im thinking better names for the Amazon + Camel compound and it would be like {QNC} or {QV}

Custom variant pieces would be incredibly hard to code, and I say that as someone who's tried to code an online fairy chess project from the ground up several times, with custom pieces, as someone who has looked at the code of chess.com directly, and as someone who has talked to admins about it before.

I dont know about coding but I can agree that it would be too hard to chess.com add the option of creating new fairy chess pieces, so its better to just add more fairy chess pieces

I wasn’t trying to represent them as easy to code in any way, and I omitted that the Xiangqi Marcher is expressible as {WU} or {UW} under such a scheme. I even brought the idea up as someone who knows that it doesn’t look as good that way even if it were just as easy to code.

I got names for the 2 unnamed pieces:

Xiangqi Horse + Wazir Compound: Dragon Wazir

Amazon + Camel Compound: Actress (this name comes from this chess variant idea: (https://www.chessvariants.com/rules/overkill-ecumenical-chess)

Nothing, I just choose some random Greek letters

And we need to go into Greek letters for the interesting pieces we actually want to use.
