960 Crazyhouse

That sounds fun, but it would best start with the likes of Crazyhouse.

Please weigh-in if you've played both 960 and Crazyhouse and think this might be a good or fun idea!

3-check crazyhouse or bughouse might be fun too.  Probably wouldn't last many moves, and 1|0 might be the best time control.

It all sounds "Crazy" enough for me.

Atomic Crazyhouse, on the other hand, was worked out to a forced win for white in around a dozen moves. Around 15 years ago, I worked it out with someone who I'm not sure is on chess.com.  I'll have to try to find my notes with the analysis!

Maybe I'll try to work on solving 3-check crazyhouse without writing a solver. Sounds like a fun puzzle

White's got a huge advantage in 3-check as it is (very likely a forced win, but I don't think it has been worked out yet), and in most of the opening lines, black must move the knight to c6, which white can capture, and dropping this knight is basically a free extra check. It's almost like 2-check if that's true.

There might be unstoppable wins (either checkmates or significant material gains) in certain starting positions even in normal 960 chess.

This is a great idea that has never been implemented. I would be a great supporter of 960 crazyhouse!

How about 3-Check 960 Crazyhouse?

That would be... crazy!

3-check crazyhouse is probably a forced win for white, 960 or not.  But if you replace 3-check with KotH, that might be fun.  Or if you replace crazyhouse with bughouse, that might also be fun - although still generally a very short game.

Or KOTH 960 Crazyhouse Bughouse.

Unfortunately, just going ahead and implementing it takes some real work on the part of the developers, who have a lot of other things to work on.  Hopefully it will happen at some point in the not-too-distant future, but I'd prefer, say, having crazyhouse support in daily and vote chess to having KotH 960 crazyhouse.

What about chess 960 3 check Crazy house?

3check crazyhouse is almost certainly a forced win for white.  The ability to drop pieces with check would be far too powerful.

It could theoretically work in bughouse, as both sides have white on one board.  Bughouse is, by definition, balanced.  Just don't expect the games to last longer than 15 moves, and often less than 10.
