Maybe names such as John, Timm, Robert, Alex with no profile pick or account to make it obvious that they are bots. They will all say good luck, and say things like "darn when they lose a piece." One of them analysis the game for you?

There profile pic is cool actually 🤔🤔 there names shall be very distinguishable from others and I saw one anonymous not game going on test server they were chatting and their names were shown in chat🤔🤔
- there are no (and won't be anytime soon) bots on main server
- if there is lots of action on the test server, they are 99% bots, it's not that hard to figure out.. i added an annouocment.
the profile pic is still in there from the father of 4pc @battlemind24, who wrote and ran tests old 4pc version

Looks like bots are offline currently. They have a 'BOT' title (like 'NM' 'GM' or something else) and you can find them on 4pc-test (not main server).
You just need to create a game and they will join automatically like normal players.

wow that is super cool
mkay so i had some fun and improved the bots. they are now unlikely to miss mate-in-one, and should blunder quite a bit less than before overall
not saying they are good or anything.. but fun to play especially in very fast time controls
note that on the test server, the bots have different strenghts, depending on their names. in FFA players starting with Z are best, A weakest, for teams its reversed (hurray for alphabetically sorted leaderboards
)
pressing the spacebar in analysis mode will now play the best bot move.

i spent two moar days on teh bots and am quite impressed with them, not meaning to brag.
have a look on /4pc-test. watch them, play against (or with) them. or press the spacebar in analysis for a computer move. see the browser console () for top 10 moves with eval info (shows after move. it will pick the best move unless it's close (within 0.5 eval), in which case it will pick one of the best moves at random
the bot only evaluates one move deep (and surely horrible 1vs1 ). in some cases it will check if it can offer a mate (sack-check on player to right ...)
Okay man back to the topic. We want bots for 4player chess! lol No theory. That's old school and alpha zero defeated it. Creativity will dominate 4 player chess, cheers!
