so this thread is where they send everyone who's got ideas so they can confine us and ignore us or what? we don't even get to create our own thread, and on top of that we don't even get acknowledged by staff? the official chess cum reddit account told me to post here and i might as well have not lol
Adding new variants
itzHani--I also am waiting. Maybe (maybe) it's just a matter of time and we should just be patient. I mean, it's only been 12 hours.--dishpan

I would love to see Sovereign chess here some day. I watched a couple videos about it on YouTube, that's looks like fun.

option to or change disable team colors moving their pawns or peices directionally based on color. say like if i want yellow and blue to be on one side of the board together in a 4 player team game then there would be an option so they both have the same movements so blue dosent just try to make its pawns go sideways like it normaly does for 4 player chess, which isnt how yellow moves if blue was placed on yellows side. so basically option to change each team colors peice orientation/ directonal movement.
This image is how the game thinks blue and yellow, as well as red and green should be positioned and moved like
This second image shows how they should move like or how i want them to move, They should move together the same way based on what side they are on. yellow and blue should move down it, while red and green move up. but the first image shows due to how you have coded 4 players it wants blue to go left and green to go right into the walls which makes their pawns unusable. so please make it so a game like the 2nd image is possible.
^ This is how they should be moved together.

We have no plans to add an option to change which way pawns move. Maybe some day, but seems unlikely. It would be very confusing, even just how to indicate it.

what happened to the variant where you could place your pieces wherever you want and the opponent do the same thing and after there was a bot vs a bot game. i forgot the name, can someone help me ive been looking for hours it was so fun...

It was called Automate and it's deleted
Somewhat like "Automate" is my variant called "Deployment Chess"--you can view the rules, but there is no way to play it on this website.
Update: you can test the soon to come, full version of variants here:
https://www.chess.com/variants-test
Variants gives players the opportunity to design new variants themselves, play them (unrated), and submit for review by team CGA (custom game admins), for a chance to have one’s game listed.
How to create custom games:
Hit 'A' on your keyboard (or open any game), click the Edit Position icon at the bottom right.
Create a starting position
Choose board dimensions (anything from 2x2 to 14x14), and set up pieces (including 23 fairy pieces) for up to 4 players.
Bricks and transparent bricks are also available, as well as dead pieces (serve as removable obstacles), or bounty pieces (live pieces that belong to a dead player, the difference to dead pieces being that they give points when captured).
Additionally up to 2 players can be set to be zombies, eg a computer will move them, according to the zombie type. Zombies can be made immune, meaning their pieces cannot be captured (these are extremely powerful “moving walls”).
(The blue knight will make random moves and cannot be captured.)
The royal piece must not be a king, it can be set to any one piece for each player.
Add rules:
There are some two dozen rules available which can be combined.
Of course there are limits, if a variant requires additional rules (say something like ‘backwards pawns’), those would need to be coded by us first.
New rules are coded in a way that they can be used as building blocks. For example, Racing Kings can be ‘added’ to any game, so you could create 3player atomic racing kings or whatever.
Any player can create such a game and play it casual. Admins can add games to the list of variants, and listed games may be played rated.
For listed games, admins can set up a variety of further properties, such as name, url, icon, teaser text, how-to-play descriptions, sorting, categories, which rating to use, etc.
Team CGA has become increasingly strict and only accepts very well thought out and fun games. They also remove games again that don’t get much attention.
Join the Custom Positions Club to share your New Custom Position (NCP) ideas:
Please read the requirements carefully before submitting your variant.
I have a question.
Does this mean Reinforcment chess will never be added?

What's Reinforcment chess?
I will never say never, especially cause volunteers are welcome to join and help code new variants if they like.
Next planned addition is piece banks and drop support, for crazyhouse, automate-style setup chess (play it out yourself), or Seirawan chess etc

Reinforcement chess is basically, when you capture a piece, it becomes yours but you don't have a choice of where you put that piece, because it gets placed to it's original square on your side immediately. If that square is occupied, you can't capture the piece. Also, you can take the piece in check if it blocks the check.
Reinforcement chess just adds a whole new rule that (I think) will open up to the other players and well - it's added.
Can you provide the "Deployment Chess Club" with empty boards to begin their games? Also can you include pieces at the top and bottom of the board?
