5 rounds of 10|0 would be great.
Additional Tournaments
what if we added two times to keep both parties happy:
those on the east coast who want something earlier (for kids not being up to late) we can add a 5 round 10|0 tournament at 6pm eastern, 3pm pacific.
then, we can add a later tournament, likewise, for those on the west coast who aren't happy with the 5pm start time. i was thinking 8pm pacific for a 5|0 tournament.
i understand that we can't make everyone happy. that's a given. but i feel that's a pretty good addition...
Well I think a small increment of say 3 seconds would be beneficial for endgame play, and yet not make the tournament much longer than a pure sudden death one.
Thanks everyone for the feedback! Here's what we decided to do (starting next week, as we will not have Monday tournaments today):
Monday:
USCF Blitz 10|0 ; 5 Rounds ; 3pm Pacific start time
USCF Blitz 5|0 ; 7 Rounds ; 8pm Pacific start time
Wednesday:
USCF Blitz 3|2 ; 7 Rounds ; 5pm Pacific start time
Friday:
USCF Rapid ; 5 Rounds ; 5pm Pacific start time
Every week. From now until kingdom come :)
Thanks to all of you! Let's see if we can get the Monday tournaments to be as popular as the Wedneday and Friday events have proven to be!
Danny
ty so much for the ones today. I can only do the 10 0 and 3 2 cuz the friday one is like 3 hours and my parents dont want me staying up till 10 playing chess. and the 8pm pacific is 10 our time and i cant stay up that late either. THANK YOU
Yeah, would be nice to see an event with longer time control eventually. But will keep my socks on as long as we keep the 15|10 :) Tournaments with out some kind of increment don't interest me yet there seems to be decent demand so nice to see those folks got what they wanted.
Thanks again for making it possible for us to play USCF rated tournaments online!
First, let me say there are no guarantees but we want to get input on time controls and event times if/when more events get added.
I know some of you have already made suggestions and we have some notated and can look trough past notes and forums too. However, some suggestions have been posted in the event chats that may have been missed.
Please let us know what you would like to see.
