Hi, with ADK's permission, we have an ongoing game. So that we can have a discussion on what were we thinking and my ideas etc. but we only go up to 4 or 5 move before the current move.

We started with 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 I was hoping for a Ruy Lopez, my fav. 3.d4 but is was the Scotch gambit and is continue 3....exd4 4.Nxd4 Bc5 5.Be3 Qf6 6.c3

I don't see why Karpov would make a move like that!

Black looks a lot better if (5. Nf5 Bxe3 6. Nxe3 d6)

well what I got here is 5.Nf5?! d5 6.Nxg7+ Kf8 is good for black!

also as for white 5th move you could have Nb3 or Nxc6

after 7.Qd2 here are my thought (in red )

7...d5 7...g6 7...0-0 7...Bxd4 7...Nxd4

7...Bxd4 8.fxd4 don't like it

7...Nxd4 8.fxd4 Bb6

7...d5 8.exd5 Nxd5 9.Bg5
8.Bg5 Qd6

7... a6, is the move I chose is to prevent Nb5, 8.Bg5 Qd6

I think I would have changed my 5th move to Nxc6 to double your Pawns.

on the 8th move I have thought of ...d5

would it have better 9.Nxc6 Nxc6 or was Qxc6 better ?

I would say 9. Nxc6 would have been best.

after 11.b4 I didn't want my queen at b6 because of 12.Na3 then to c4 might be a problem for me.

I know ADK, as you can see I need some more work to do my endgame ! I realised that now 37...b5 was a bad move. Could u wait til I post the rest of the game ...and when we get to the 37th move then we can talk about it.
