1...0-0-0, and threat to c7 gone, rook activated and can join in on kingside, and queen threatens h3 pawn. The king side pawn advance should be powerful

Right, here is the moves leading upto the diagram 1.e4 e5 2.f4 exf4 3.Nf3 d6
4.d4 g5 5.Bc4 h5 6.0-0 Bg4 7.Nc3 Ne7 8.h3 Bf3 9.Qxf3 Nbc6 10.Na5 Bg7
11.c3 Qd7 here was white last move 12.g3 black's next move after the diagram was ...Qxh3.

so 12...Qxh3 was abit premature because there no follow up attack, there was no plan at all after Qxh3 13.Nxc7+ and black lose a rook.As darius was saying
0-0-0 was better...
